Summary
Ternimal definitely falls with the candy genre. It’s certainly not a typical utility. It’s not going to make you productive or achieve any specific task. But you can create some zany lifeforms with a few tweaks to the parameters.
Does Ternimal have any practical use? Possibly. It could be adapted to benchmark terminal emulators. However, the terminal emulator needs to support 24-bit RGB color escape sequences. Many don’t. And if it doesn’t, you’ll just see random and weird colors.
There’s no documentation that explains the parameters you can apply to a simulation. Instead, you’ll have to look at the source code, together with the examples provided by the developer.
