Summary

Feed the program a JPEG or PNG and it will produce an ASCII equivalent. You need to be careful with the image chosen. The optional parameters help generate images which are reasonable clear particularly if you use a high enough resolution.

When displays and printers had limited capabilities which could only generate output with ASCII characters, producing images was always a challenge. But this was part of the fun.

ASCII Art Converter is a very basic ASCII art generator. It produces ASCII art with the minimum of fuss and bother.
