Summary
If you’re looking for a graphical talking cow, give xcowsay a whirl on your desktop. It certainly raised a smile with a few colleagues.
xcowsay has only garnered 39 GitHub stars at the time of publication of this article. It deserves a lot more.
You can specify options with flags, or modify the xcowsayrc configuration file. Besides running on Linux, the software has been ported to FreeBSD, OpenBSD, and NetBSD.
