chwall is a small automatic wallpaper changer that periodically updates your Linux desktop background. It can select images from local directories or retrieve new wallpapers from several online sources.
Supported sources include Bing, NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day, DeviantArt RSS feeds, Unsplash, Pexels, Reddit, Muzei, WikiArt and Wallhaven. Some services require an API key.
The application is organised around a background daemon responsible for changing wallpapers at configurable intervals. You can control it through a graphical preferences application, system tray interfaces or a command-line client.
chwall supports GNOME, Xfce, MATE, KDE Plasma and Sway, along with environments that can use feh. Its alternative chwall-indicator tray interface is intended for environments where the older chwall-icon is unsuitable, including Wayland.
