flowy is a dynamic wallpaper changer that adjusts desktop backgrounds according to a schedule. Its most distinctive capability is changing wallpapers around sunrise and sunset, allowing users to display different backgrounds during the day and at night.
The application can work with a collection of locally stored images. It is particularly suited to users who prefer automatic wallpaper changes rather than selecting a new desktop background manually.
flowy also provides a conventional rotation mode in which wallpaper changes are distributed across a collection of images. The timing can be adjusted, although some customisation requires modifying the configuration and rebuilding the program.
The application operates through the command line and can remain running in the background. On Linux, it can also be managed as a systemd user service for automatic operation during a desktop session.
This is free and open source software.
