HushMic – real-time microphone noise suppression

HushMic is a microphone noise suppression application for Linux that removes unwanted background sounds from live audio. It uses the DPDFNet speech enhancement model to reduce keyboard noise, computer fans and surrounding conversations while preserving speech clarity.

The application integrates with PipeWire and creates a virtual microphone that other applications can use as an audio input. This makes it suitable for voice calls, online meetings, streaming and recording without requiring each application to provide its own noise reduction facilities.

Audio processing takes place locally on the computer, with no need to upload recordings or microphone input to an external service.

This is free and open source software.
