PDF.js – JavaScript library that renders Portable Document Format files

PDF.js a free, open source, general-purpose, web standards-based platform for parsing and rendering PDFs. It’s an HTML5 and JavaScript-based PDF reader.

The objective is to support all HTML5 compliant browsers, but since feature support varies per browser/version support for all PDF features varies as well. Supported browsers include: Firefox, Chrome, Opera, IE11/Edge, and Safari 9+.

PDF.js is built into version 19+ of Firefox. There’s an official extension for Chrome.
