mtr085 is a fork of mtr, the network diagnostic application that combines ping and traceroute functionality. It retains the ability to investigate network routes while adding several presentation and internationalisation improvements.
Like the original application, mtr085 sends probes along the route to a destination and reports information about individual network hops. Continuous measurements can help identify latency increases, intermittent packet loss and changes in route behaviour.
The fork is intended for users who appreciate the conventional mtr workflow but want enhanced terminal output and improved support for international environments. Its additional display options make some measurements easier to inspect directly within a terminal.
