Ping Monitor is a small desktop application for observing network response times. It combines a Deno backend with a WebView frontend, presenting continuously updated ping measurements through a graphical interface.
The application is designed for users who want to keep an eye on the responsiveness of a network destination while working on other tasks. Its line graph provides a visual history of recent measurements, making changes easier to recognise than in ordinary terminal output.
Ping Monitor communicates between its backend and frontend using WebSockets. Chart.js provides the graphical presentation, while the backend performs the connectivity measurements.
This is free and open source software.
Key Features
- Continuous ping monitoring of a specified destination.
- Real-time measurements of network response times.
- Live line graph illustrating latency changes.
- WebSocket communication between measurement and display components.
- Desktop interface based on WebView.
- Chart.js graph rendering for visualising measurements.
- Deno backend responsible for the network checks.
- Compact interface for monitoring a destination during other work.
