Ultimate Time Tracker (utt) is a command-line application for recording working hours and preparing timesheets. It is designed for people who need to account for their time, particularly when transferring that information into another reporting system.
utt takes a slightly different approach from a conventional stopwatch. You tell it when you start your working day, then record activities as you finish them. It calculates the time spent on each activity and maintains a running record of the day.
Activities can be associated with projects and classified as work, breaks or ignored time. Reports provide summaries of total hours, project totals, individual activities and the complete timeline. You can examine a particular date or generate a report covering a longer period.
Timesheets can be edited using your preferred text editor. The application also supports command-line completion and plugins, including extensions for comparing working hours against targets and summarising project activity.
