gytm is a terminal-based YouTube Music player. It provides an interactive interface for browsing music, managing playlists and streaming audio directly from the terminal.
The application combines a keyboard-driven interface with access to the YouTube Music catalogue. Users can search for songs, albums and videos, maintain a playback queue and manage their personal music collections.
gytm uses browser-based authentication to access an existing YouTube Music account. It can retrieve account information from supported browsers, including different profiles and Firefox containers. A guest mode is also available for listening to publicly accessible content without signing in.
The application uses mpv for audio playback and yt-dlp to retrieve stream information. Playback can continue in the background after the main interface is closed.
This is free and open source software.
