RAMspeed SMP is one of the Minisforum M2’s strongest results once dual-channel memory is enabled.

$ phoronix-test-suite benchmark ramspeed
RAMspeed tests the system memory (RAM) performance. With the exception of the N100 mini PC, all the machines are running dual-channel memory.
RAMspeed SMP is one of the Minisforum M2’s strongest results with dual-channel memory (my machine came with single-channel memory).
With 46,493 MB/s in the integer test and 47,815 MB/s in the floating-point test, the M2 sits second overall, behind only the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 system. It also outperforms the Ryzen 9 7940HS and Ryzen 9 8945HS machines, as well as every other Intel system in the comparison. That’s encouraging, as strong memory bandwidth can benefit more than synthetic tests, especially integrated graphics, NPU workloads, compiling, compression, and other memory-sensitive tasks. The results also underline how important it is to run the M2 with dual-channel memory enabled.

$ phoronix-test-suite benchmark tinymembench
This benchmark also tests the system memory (RAM) performance. memcpy() copies a block of memory from one location to another. memset() fills a block of memory with a specified byte value.
TinyMemBench confirms that memory performance is one of the Minisforum M2’s stronger areas. In the memcpy test, the M2 reaches 27,915 MB/s, placing it second overall and effectively level with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 system. It also comfortably beats the Ryzen 9 7940HS and Ryzen 9 8945HS machines. The memset result is also impressive, with the M2 reaching 62,295 MB/s. Although several Core Ultra systems are faster in that specific test, the M2 is well ahead of the AMD systems, including the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. These results help explain why running the M2 with dual-channel memory is so important, particularly for workloads that move large amounts of data through system memory.
