Summary
Quimup aims to turn MPD into a perfect desktop music player, but also supports controlling MPD remotely. It achieves these aims with aplomb.
Quimup is a marvellous MPD client. It sits on our desktop consuming a tiny amount of real estate, and there’s also a lovely mini-mode which takes even less. The interface is well thought out. Neat and nifty.
The ps_mem utility reports that Quimup has a very low memory footprint. The client takes under 45MB of RAM, and even when factoring in mpd’s memory of around 29MB, you still have an extremely frugal music player suitable for any system.
