Percona Toolkit is a collection of command-line utilities for managing, analysing and troubleshooting MySQL-compatible databases. The toolkit provides specialised tools for database administrators who need to inspect performance, maintain replication consistency and carry out potentially disruptive operations safely.
The collection includes utilities for analysing SQL query logs, identifying duplicate indexes, comparing table contents and archiving database records. Its tools can also assist with schema migrations, server configuration analysis and replication troubleshooting.
One of its best-known utilities is pt-online-schema-change, which modifies table structures while reducing downtime. Other tools, including pt-table-checksum and pt-table-sync, help administrators identify and correct data inconsistencies between database servers. pt-query-digest analyses query workloads and helps identify statements that consume excessive resources.
