Xastir is an X11 graphical APRS client developed for amateur radio operators.
It uses amateur radio and Internet services to present GPS mapping, weather, and positional data in a graphical interface, and it’s designed to provide real-time APRS information in an accessible desktop application for Linux and other Unix-like systems.
This is free and open source software.

- Supports online map retrieval as well as raster, vector, and GeoTIFF map formats when the relevant optional libraries are installed.
- Can work with internet APRS services and optional AX.25 support for Linux kernel mode packet radio operation.
- Offers map snapshots, map printing, and Berkeley DB-based caching to improve raster map handling when enabled.
- Includes optional text-to-speech and identification features for specialised operating and broadcast scenarios.
