qdmr is a graphical application and command-line tool for programming DMR radios. It aims to provide a common codeplug programming environment instead of requiring a different manufacturer-specific CPS for each model or even individual radio revision.
The project is particularly attractive to Linux users because many manufacturer programming applications are Windows-only. qdmr supports a growing range of handheld and mobile DMR equipment from manufacturers including AnyTone, TYT, Radioddity, Retevis, BTECH and Baofeng, together with radios running OpenGD77-family firmware.
This is free and open source software.
Key Features
- Create and edit DMR codeplugs using a native graphical interface.
- Read codeplugs from supported radios and write modified configurations back to them.
- Manage digital contacts, group lists, channels, zones and scan lists.
- Configure DMR identifiers and related radio settings supported by individual devices.
- Handle analogue as well as digital channels where the radio provides both modes.
- Configure roaming functionality on supported equipment.
- Manage APRS settings on radios that expose APRS capabilities.
- Support radio-specific extensions without forcing all devices into an identical configuration model.
- Work with radios running OpenGD77, OpenUV390 and related alternative firmware.
- Store codeplug information in a documented YAML representation suitable for editing and external tools.
- Provide a command-line companion for scripting and non-graphical workflows.
- Integrate with surrounding tools such as dmrfill for adding repeater information to codeplugs.
- Run natively on Linux without depending on a manufacturer’s Windows CPS.
