stress-ng is a command-line utility designed to exercise a computer system in a wide variety of ways.
It can place sustained load on processors, memory, caches, filesystems, storage, networking and numerous operating-system interfaces. Its extensive collection of stressors makes it useful for system testing, kernel development, hardware evaluation and investigating stability problems.
Individual stressors can be selected and combined, with controls over worker counts, duration and workload characteristics.
This is free and open source software.
