padthv1 is a polyphonic additive synthesizer based on Paul Nasca’s PADsynth algorithm. The synthesis method is especially associated with harmonically rich, smooth sounds and slowly evolving textures rather than conventional oscillator-based subtractive tones.
It is suited to atmospheric pads, layered timbres and sustained sounds that benefit from the spectral character of the underlying synthesis method. Its compact interface keeps the focus on one instrument while offering enough controls to experiment with different textures.
Like the companion synthv1 instrument, padthv1 fits naturally into Linux music production, whether used independently or from an audio-plugin host.
