synthv1 is a polyphonic subtractive synthesizer with a straightforward digital architecture. It gives Linux musicians a traditional oscillator-and-filter instrument that can be used independently or within a plugin host.
Four oscillators provide the raw material for sound design, while the familiar subtractive approach allows the resulting tones to be shaped into basses, leads, pads and effects. The emphasis is on a compact, dedicated instrument rather than a large modular environment.
The application is part of Rui Nuno Capela’s family of Linux audio instruments, which also includes the additive synthesizer padthv1 and several samplers.
