qps is a graphical process viewer and manager for Linux. It provides a Qt-based interface for examining running processes, monitoring their resource consumption and controlling their execution.
The application is maintained by the LXQt project but can also be used independently of the LXQt desktop environment.
Its interface centres on a configurable process table, offering an alternative to terminal utilities such as top and ps. Processes can be viewed individually or in a hierarchical tree that reveals parent-child relationships.
qps is particularly useful when investigating processes consuming excessive resources, examining the relationship between running programs or identifying tasks that need administrative attention. Its detailed process inspection facilities provide considerably more information than a basic task manager.
This is free and open source software.
