Wavetable is a polyphonic wavetable synthesizer built around two main wavetable oscillators and a straightforward modulation workflow.
It can operate as a standalone instrument or as a plugin, including LV2 and VST3 formats on Linux. The synth supports built-in and user-supplied wavetables, provides dedicated sub-oscillator and noise sources, and combines these with filtering, modulation and a selection of integrated effects. MPE and MTS-ESP support broaden its usefulness for expressive performance and alternative tuning systems.
This is free and open source software.
Key Features
- Two wavetable oscillators provide position, coarse and fine tuning, level and stereo pan controls.
- Each main oscillator supports up to eight unison voices with adjustable detune and stereo spread.
- Formant and bend controls provide additional ways to reshape wavetable playback.
- Custom wavetables can be loaded from WAV files using several supported frame sizes.
- A sub-oscillator offers sine, triangle, saw and pulse waveforms, while the separate noise generator provides white and pink noise.
- The multimode filter includes low-pass, high-pass, band-pass and notch responses with 12 dB and 24 dB slopes.
- Filter routing can be applied independently to the two wavetable oscillators, sub-oscillator and noise source.
- Three modulation envelopes and three LFOs complement a 32-step sequencer for rhythmic modulation.
- The modulation matrix can route modulation sources to parameters with depth, curve shaping and polarity controls.
- An effects section provides chorus, several distortion modes, tempo-aware delay and reverb, together with a 16-step gate.
- Mono and polyphonic modes are available, with glide and a legato option for monophonic playing.
- MPE support enables expressive per-note control, while MTS-ESP provides microtuning integration.
