Dockge – Docker Compose stack manager

Dockge is a self-hosted web interface for managing Docker Compose stacks. Its workflow is centred on ordinary compose.yaml files, so stacks remain stored as files on the host rather than being hidden inside a separate database or proprietary project format.

The application provides an editor and operational controls in the browser while continuing to coexist with the normal Docker Compose command line. That makes it useful for people who want a graphical stack manager without giving up direct access to the underlying Compose files. Dockge can also use agents to bring stacks from several Docker hosts into one interface.

This is free and open source software.

Key Features

  • Create, edit and manage compose.yaml files from a web interface.
  • Start, stop, restart and delete Docker Compose stacks.
  • Update the container images used by a stack.
  • Interactive editor for working directly with Compose definitions.
  • Interactive web terminal for stack-related command-line work.
  • Agent support for managing stacks located on multiple Docker hosts.
  • Convert docker run commands into Compose definitions.
  • File-based storage keeps Compose files accessible on the host filesystem.
  • Continue using normal docker compose commands against stacks managed by Dockge.
  • Show pull, start and stop progress in real time.
  • Display terminal output as operations run.
  • Designed as a self-hosted service rather than a hosted management platform.
  • Can be deployed with Docker and also documents Podman as a supported runtime requirement.
