BOSGAME VTA-439 Mini PC running Linux – Benchmarks

Disk

The machine was shipped with a Kingston NAND (QLC) 1TB NVMe PCIe Gen 4 M.2 which has an advertised maximum read speed of 6,100 MB/s and maximum write speed of 5,300 MB/s.

Here are the results with KDiskMark, an open-source storage benchmark. It’s a GUI tool that uses fio, the Flexible I/O Tester.

I also ran a Windows disk benchmark for completeness.

Summary

The BOSGAME VTA-439 is a very strong Linux mini PC. Its Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 processor delivers excellent CPU performance, frequently sitting near the top of the charts and clearly trailing only the much more expensive Core Ultra 9 285HX workstation-class system. Compared with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, the gains are generally modest rather than dramatic, but the VTA-439 still edges ahead in several areas and looks particularly good when price and overall balance are considered.

Graphics performance is the VTA-439’s biggest strength. Its Radeon 890M integrated GPU is the fastest integrated graphics solution in this comparison, helped by the higher GPU clock of the HX 470. Memory bandwidth is also strong, although memset performance is less impressive than Intel’s Core Ultra systems. Overall, the VTA-439 offers an excellent mix of processor speed, integrated graphics performance, memory bandwidth, and Linux compatibility, while the N100 results show just how far ahead this class of high-end mini PC has moved.
