ILIAS is a web-based learning management system for educational institutions, public organisations and professional training providers. It combines course administration, learning content, assessment and communication in a single platform.
The system supports several approaches to teaching. Educators can create conventional courses, organise independent learning resources or guide students through structured learning sequences. Its access controls help institutions manage enrolments, roles and permissions across different departments and groups.
ILIAS includes an extensive collection of authoring and assessment tools. Teachers can create learning modules, tests and surveys, while students use a personal workspace to access their courses, monitor progress and manage learning activities.
