Omeka S is a web publishing platform for creating and managing digital collections, exhibitions and other forms of structured cultural and educational content. It is aimed particularly at universities, museums, libraries, archives and digital humanities projects.
The system allows organisations to describe resources using structured metadata and publish selected material through public-facing websites. Its approach is based on linked data, making it possible to express relationships between items, people, places and other concepts.
A single Omeka S installation can manage multiple websites using a shared collection of resources. This is useful for institutions that maintain separate exhibitions, research projects or departmental websites while drawing on common collections.
