yanklog is a clipboard history manager for Linux that keeps a searchable record of copied text. It is designed to make frequently reused information easier to retrieve while keeping clipboard contents on the local computer.
The application stores clipboard history in an encrypted database rather than transmitting copied text to a remote service. Users can search earlier entries, pin important snippets, and use a keyboard-driven picker to retrieve text without opening the main application window.
Privacy controls are an important part of yanklog’s design. It can filter potentially sensitive information, temporarily suspend clipboard monitoring, and limit the amount of historical data retained. The interface uses GTK4 and libadwaita, providing a desktop application that fits naturally into GNOME environments.
This is free and open source software.
