Tessera is a graphical utility for generating QR codes from arbitrary text or URLs. The generated code is updated live as the source text changes, making it straightforward to experiment with content and presentation before exporting the finished image.
The program offers control over the foreground colour and warns when the chosen colour produces insufficient contrast for reliable scanning. This is useful when creating QR codes intended to match an existing visual design while retaining practical readability.
Tessera supports all four standard QR error-correction levels. Finished codes can be exported in raster or vector formats, or copied directly to the clipboard. Preferences for colour and error-correction level can be retained between sessions.
