Qrca is a KDE application for scanning barcodes and creating QR codes. It is designed for both Plasma Desktop and Plasma Mobile, providing a consistent way to work with codes on Linux computers and compatible mobile devices.
The application uses KDE’s Kirigami framework for its interface and the Prison library for barcode processing. It can scan codes using a camera or read them from an existing image file.
Qrca recognises several types of encoded information, allowing it to offer appropriate actions after scanning. This makes it particularly useful for transferring Wi-Fi credentials, contact details and website addresses between devices.
