Decoder is a GNOME application for scanning and generating QR codes. It provides a compact graphical interface for accessing information encoded in QR symbols without relying on a mobile phone or an online scanning service.
The program can scan codes through a connected camera or from a screenshot. It attempts to interpret recognised QR content so that the result is more useful than a sequence of raw characters.
Decoder also creates QR codes from information entered by the user. Its interface follows the conventions of modern GNOME applications, with an emphasis on providing the essential facilities without complicated configuration.
