Soundscope is a terminal-based audio analyser that provides interactive visualisations and measurements of recorded and live sound. It combines frequency analysis, waveform inspection and loudness metering within a text-based user interface.
The application is useful for musicians, audio enthusiasts and developers who prefer working in a terminal. Its displays allow users to investigate frequency distribution and signal levels without opening a graphical audio editor.
Soundscope can analyse audio files or capture live input from a microphone. Its keyboard-driven interface provides access to different views, while configurable themes allow the presentation to be adapted to individual preferences.
This is free and open source software.
Key Features
- Analyse audio files and live microphone input.
- FFT spectrum display showing the distribution of audio frequencies.
