Mousai is a music recognition application for Linux that identifies songs from short audio recordings. It provides a simple graphical interface for discovering the title and artist of music playing nearby or through the computer’s audio system.
The application is designed for everyday situations where a user hears an unfamiliar song and wants to identify it. Recognition requests are processed using the AudD music recognition service, which compares captured audio with its database of recordings.
Mousai also maintains a collection of recognised songs, making it possible to return to previous discoveries. Its interface follows GNOME design conventions and keeps the recognition process straightforward.
This is free and open source software.
