Luppolo is a real-time multi-track audio looper designed for musicians who want to record, repeat and layer musical phrases. It is particularly suited to guitarists, although it can be used with other instruments and audio sources.
The application provides an alternative to dedicated hardware loop pedals. Musicians can record an initial phrase, play it continuously and gradually build a performance by adding further recordings on separate tracks.
Luppolo focuses on live looping rather than conventional multitrack audio editing. Its minimalist graphical interface keeps the recording and playback controls readily accessible, allowing musicians to concentrate on their performance.
The software can be used for practising, exploring musical ideas, developing arrangements and creating layered compositions. It offers a straightforward workflow for building musical passages without requiring a full digital audio workstation.
This is free and open source software.
