Colorice generates desktop colour schemes from wallpapers with an emphasis on perceptual consistency and readability.
Instead of performing its colour calculations directly in RGB or HSL, it uses the Oklab colour space, which is designed so that numerical differences correspond more closely to perceived differences between colours. The resulting palettes can then be rendered into configuration files for applications across a Linux desktop. Colorice also offers compatibility with existing pywal templates, making it possible to reuse established customisation setups rather than recreating them from scratch.
