LibrePhotos is a self-hosted photo management application designed to organise, search and explore personal photo and video collections. It provides a browser-based interface for managing media while keeping users in control of their storage and data.
The application can scan existing photo directories and organise photographs into timelines, albums and collections. It supports common image formats, including RAW and HEIC, together with video files and Live Photos.
LibrePhotos includes machine learning features for recognising faces, identifying image contents and searching collections using natural language descriptions. It can group photographs by people, places and events, making it easier to rediscover images without extensive manual tagging.
The software supports multiple users, shared albums and public links. It also offers mobile applications, with self-hosted deployment options ranging from a single container to a more conventional multi-container installation.
