MyPhotoShare is a static web gallery for publishing and sharing photographs, audio and video collections. It provides a way to make personal media accessible through a browser without requiring a database-backed gallery application.
The software uses a Python scanner to process media directories, extract metadata and generate thumbnails and JSON index files. A JavaScript interface uses these files to present the collection, with support for browsing by folder, date, tags and geographical location.
MyPhotoShare offers extensive searching facilities, allowing users to locate photographs using filenames, titles, descriptions and tags. Images containing GPS coordinates can be explored through interactive maps, while virtual albums make it possible to organise selected media without changing the underlying directory structure.
The application includes password protection for albums and individual files, configurable access to original images and responsive layouts for mobile devices. Optional machine learning extensions provide automatic face recognition and image classification.
