termrec is a collection of command-line tools and supporting libraries for recording, replaying and manipulating terminal sessions. Its recording format retains timing information, allowing saved sessions to be played back with the pacing of the original interaction rather than treated simply as static terminal output.
The suite has grown beyond its original ttyrec-compatible recorder. It can read several terminal recording formats, convert between them and work with compressed recordings. Its terminal emulation layer handles modern terminal output including wide characters, combining characters and true colour.
The current toolset comprises termrec, termplay, termtime and termcat. The older proxyrec network-recording utility is no longer part of the suite.
