Disk
The machine came with a Crucial P310 1TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD installed in one of the four NVMe slots.
Its advertised maximum sequential speeds are up to 7,100MB/s read and 6,000MB/s write.
Here are the results with KDiskMark, open-source benchmark software for storage devices. It’s a GUI tool that uses fio, the Flexible I/O Tester.

also ran a Windows disk benchmark for completeness.
KDiskMark produced lower figures than CrystalDiskMark, but the results aren’t directly interchangeable. KDiskMark uses fio on Linux, so it tests the drive through a different operating system, driver stack, filesystem, caching model, and I/O scheduler. CrystalDiskMark on Windows may use different queue depths, buffering behaviour, and write handling even when the test names appear similar. As a result, KDiskMark can be a stricter or simply different test of the same SSD.
The lower scores don’t necessarily mean the drive is slower under Linux, but they do show that storage benchmark results should be compared only when the test engine, operating system, filesystem, queue depth, block size, caching mode, drive fill state, temperature, and power settings are closely matched.

Summary
Overall, the MS-02 Ultra’s benchmark profile is clear: exceptional multi-threaded CPU performance, strong single-threaded results, modest integrated 3D graphics, solid memory performance constrained by DDR5-4800 operation, and fast Gen4 NVMe storage. For Linux users, its strongest appeal is as a compact workstation or homelab platform, especially if you plan to use its PCIe expansion, high-speed networking, or multiple NVMe slots rather than rely solely on the integrated GPU.
In the next article in the series, I’ll be putting the machine through various power consumption tests.
