Field Monitor is a remote desktop client designed for the GNOME platform with a particular focus on accessing graphical consoles provided by virtual machines. It can also operate as a conventional remote desktop client when connecting directly to compatible servers.
Rather than treating every virtual machine as an unrelated saved connection, Field Monitor can obtain systems from supported virtualization environments and expose basic VM management alongside their displays. This makes it particularly useful when remote desktop access is part of a virtual machine workflow.
