Embroidermodder – machine embroidery software tool that supports a variety of formats

Embroidermodder is a free machine embroidery software program.

The software supports a variety of formats and allows the user to add custom modifications to their embroidery designs

It’s released under an open source license.

Features include:

  • Edit and create embroidery designs.
  • Realistic rendering – lets you visualize a design with the software’s pseudo 3D realistic rendering.
  • Estimate the amount of thread and machine time needed to stitch a design.
  • Various grid types and auto-adjusting rulers – use rectangular, circular or isometric grids to construct your design.
  • Measurement tools – locate individual points or find distances between any 2 points anywhere in the design. Take quick and accurate measurements.
  • Add text – add text to your existing design or create one from scratch.
  • Convert embroidery files to a variety of embroidery formats as well as several vector formats, such as SVG and DXF.
  • Batch conversion – use libembroidery-convert, a command line utility which supports batch file conversion.
  • Upscale or downscale designs.
  • Scripting API – create your own custom commands. The software provide an QtScript API which exposes various application functionality.
  • Cross-platform support – runs under Linux (including ARM based Raspberry Pi), Mac OS X, and Windows.
