charcoal is a command line dictionary that’s an alternative to wudao-dict.
It offers colourised terminal output and optional speech. Queries are cached as both text and audio, which speeds up repeated lookups and avoids downloading the same data again.
The program also provides commands for editing or resetting its configuration and clearing cached data.
This is free and open source software.
