Zimbra is an email and collaboration platform designed to bring mail, calendars, contacts and related communication services together within one server environment.
It provides a web-based client as well as standard mail services that can be accessed by desktop and mobile clients. Administrators can manage users, domains, aliases and server configuration through central administration facilities.
The project is modular and incorporates a number of third-party components alongside Zimbra-developed server and client code. Source code for the open source edition remains available, although Zimbra’s licensing model varies between its source code, binary distributions and individual bundled components.
