Tracker is an open source video analysis and modeling tool built on the Open Source Physics (OSP) Java framework.
It is designed to be used in introductory college physics labs and lectures.
Tracker can analyse digital video files, animated GIF files, and image sequences consisting of one or more digital images. Video filters allow users to modify the video image for special effects or to improve the quality of data obtained from tracks. Tracker’s filters fall into four categories: image enhancement, special effects, noise reduction, and image transformations.

- Object tracking, including centers of mass, with position, velocity and acceleration overlays and data.
- Autotracking for accurate tracking without the mouse. Autotrack in two dimensions or along a single axis.
- Video modeling with dynamic particle overlays and data, including two-body systems.

- Line profiles for RGB analysis of spectra and interference at any angle.
- RGB regions for time analysis of RGB data.
- Multiple reference frame views of collisions and other motions.
- Video filters, including brightness/contrast, perspective, ghost trails, and deinterlacing.
- Xuggle video engine plays and records most formats (mov/avi/flv/mp4/wmv etc).
- Export Video wizard enables editing and transcoding videos, with or without overlay graphics, using Tracker itself.
- User-defined variables for plotting and analysis.
- Data analysis tool with powerful automatic and manual curve fitting.
- Full undo/redo with multiple steps.
- Copy and print images of any view for use in labs and other documents.
- Internationalization support: English, Spanish, French, Italian, Danish, German, Indonesian, Chinese, Portugese, and Slovak languages are supported.
