Reflex provides a framework for building full-stack web applications using a single application model for user interfaces and backend behaviour. It aims to make interactive sites accessible to developers who prefer component-based development without writing browser-specific application logic.
An application is assembled from reusable UI components, pages, state classes and event handlers. Changing application state can update the visible interface, while event handlers can perform server-side calculations or coordinate other services. The same approach can be used for smaller interactive tools and larger applications with several views and shared data.
In Reflex, a state change is expressed in application logic while the framework reconciles the corresponding browser interface. Components can be reused across routes, and event handlers keep interactive behaviour together with the state it modifies. This model is useful for admin panels and other multi-view applications.
This is free and open source software.
Key Features
- Declarative user-interface components describe pages and reusable sections.
- Reactive state classes hold values that drive visible application updates.
- Event handlers connect user interactions to state changes and backend operations.
- Page routing supports multi-page applications and dynamic paths.
- Forms, controls, tables and layout components build interactive interfaces.
- Conditional rendering and iteration produce dynamic content from application state.
- Custom components and styling options extend the built-in interface library.
- Backend integrations allow application logic to use external databases and services.
- Component reuse and state separation help structure growing applications.
- Development tools support changes to pages and application logic.
- Computed state properties derive display values from underlying state.
- Reusable components can accept arguments and callbacks for consistent interactions.
- Authentication patterns can be integrated with server-side state and routes.
