QDiskInfo – graphical frontend for smartctl

QDiskInfo is a graphical frontend for smartctl, the command-line utility supplied by smartmontools.

It presents SMART data from hard drives and solid-state drives in a desktop interface inspired by CrystalDiskInfo, making drive health information easier to inspect without working directly with smartctl output. The application is built with Qt and supports both Qt 5 and Qt 6. It can handle modern storage devices and exposes information reported by smartctl for SATA, NVMe and other supported drives.

This is free and open source software.

Key Features

  • Displays SMART health information reported by smartctl.
  • Shows drive identity, temperature, power-on time and other device information.
  • Presents SMART attributes and health status in a graphical interface.
  • Supports SATA and NVMe storage devices handled by smartctl.
  • Reports total host reads and writes where the drive supplies suitable statistics.
  • Includes a grid view designed for systems containing many drives.
  • Can save drive information as JSON for later inspection or sharing.
  • Provides an ASCII view for SATA devices.
  • Can capture a screenshot of the application window.
  • Offers configurable interface settings, including light and dark presentation options.
  • Supports keyboard and on-screen navigation between detected drives.
  • Includes localisation support with translations maintained through Crowdin.
  • Uses Polkit integration where elevated access to storage information is required.
