KrelboyneOS is a Debian-based Linux distribution designed for software development, security learning and everyday computing. It provides a preconfigured Xfce desktop with the Arc-Dark theme, Papirus icons and a dark teal visual identity.
The distribution includes an extensive collection of development tools, programming languages and utilities for network diagnostics and security testing. Its software selection covers Python, Node.js, Git, Docker, PostgreSQL, SQLite, QEMU and a range of penetration testing applications.
KrelboyneOS includes custom graphical utilities for installing additional software, managing updates and checking system health. KOS Doctor monitors disk space, SSD health, memory usage and other system conditions, offering fixes for common problems.
Built using Debian’s live-build tools, the distribution provides a live environment and a Calamares installer with optional disk encryption. KrelboyneOS is currently in alpha development, with limited hardware testing.

What's a Linux distribution ("distro")? |
| A distro provides the user with a desktop environment, preloaded applications, and ways to update and maintain the system. Each distro makes different choices, deciding which open source projects to install and provides custom written programs. They can have different philosophies. Some distros are intended for desktop computers, some for servers without a graphical interface, and others for special uses. Because Linux is an open source operating system, combinations of software vary between Linux distros. |
