Headphones is a music collection manager and automated downloader designed for obtaining albums through Usenet or BitTorrent. It combines artist monitoring, release searching and library organisation in a browser-based application.
The software lets users build a list of artists they want to follow and identify albums missing from their collection. It can search configured sources for matching releases and pass selected downloads to an external client.
Headphones also provides tools for working with an existing music library. This makes it useful for users who want to organise their files and track missing albums rather than treating each download as an unrelated task.
