Sonarr is a television series manager for people who use Usenet or BitTorrent to obtain episodes and maintain local media collections. It monitors selected series, searches configured indexers and manages downloads through compatible external clients.
The application keeps track of seasons and episodes, including material that has already been downloaded. Users can specify the quality they want, monitor new episodes and search for missing or better-quality releases.
After a download finishes, Sonarr can organise the resulting file within an existing library. It can also communicate with media server applications so that newly imported episodes become available without requiring manual library maintenance.
Sonarr provides a browser-based interface for managing series, inspecting download activity and changing monitoring or quality settings. It is suited to users who want greater control over a television collection while automating repetitive tasks.
