rumdl is a fast Markdown linter and formatter written in Rust. It offers extensive markdownlint-compatible checking while adding native formatting, flexible configuration and support for a range of Markdown dialects.
The program can check or format files, directories and standard input. Configuration is discovered automatically, and existing markdownlint configuration files can be used or converted to rumdl’s own format.
rumdl also understands documentation-specific Markdown flavours including MkDocs, MDX, Quarto, Pandoc, Obsidian, Kramdown, Azure DevOps and MyST.
This is free and open source software.
