Filmulator is a RAW photo editor with an integrated image library. Its distinctive processing model simulates some of the behaviour of photographic film development rather than exposing a large collection of independent image-processing modules.
The filmulation process compresses large bright regions, increases local contrast around smaller bright areas and changes the treatment of colour and saturation in highlights. The design deliberately favours a smaller number of focused controls rather than maximum configurability.
Alongside image development, Filmulator provides importing, organisation, ratings, a processing queue and culling facilities. Recent development has expanded the processing side with noise reduction and improved handling of strongly saturated highlights.
This is free and open source software.
