FerrumPix is a desktop photo manager and image editor for Linux and Windows. It combines library management, viewing, RAW development and fairly extensive editing facilities in a single application.
The gallery can browse local folders and organise photographs using ratings, favourites, keywords and saved searches. Metadata from sidecars created by applications such as Lightroom, darktable and digiKam can be read, helping preserve existing organisation. Images can also be grouped and filtered by date, camera, file type, rating, person and location.
Its viewer offers fullscreen display, slideshows, side-by-side comparison and detailed metadata. Photographic analysis includes a histogram, waveform and RGB parade.
The editor goes considerably further than simple adjustments. It offers cropping, resizing, perspective correction, exposure and colour controls, curves, masks, selections, retouching, text, shapes and layers. RAW files are developed from sensor data, with lens corrections available for a large number of lenses. Photoshop files can also be opened with layer information.
Batch operations include renaming, conversion, resizing, watermarking and metadata processing. FerrumPix can additionally connect to self-hosted Immich and Nextcloud servers for browsing and transferring photographs.
